Project 365 for 2014

Project 365 for 2014

So, I’ve been thinking about doing a Project 365 for years now. Yes. Years. Fear of commitment, anyone? I always over-think things and never end up doing half of what I want to so I’m jumping in and doing this, I’m going to let go of the stress of “what if I miss a day” and “what if I can’t figure out what to take a picture of” and just do it.

Really, who cares if I miss a day or two? Its photography and its fun and I take photos all the time anyway.

I was inspired to do this, now, after finding Courtney from Click It Up a Notch’s Project 365. I got to meet Courtney briefly at Bloggy Boot Camp in Dallas this past November and was so impressed by her passion for photography and her genuine interest in helping others improve their own photography that I’ve been a big follower of hers ever since. If you aren’t familiar with Click It Up A Notch and you are interested in photography, I’m going to suggest you check out her site, it will be worth your time.

My Project 365 for 2014 started January 1. I’d love it if you’d check it out. I’d also like to know:

– are you doing a photography project this year?

– have you done one in the past? Did you love it?

Let me know in the comments what you are working on, I’d love to see it!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I totally did 1 Snap A Day last year, which was similar and this year I am sharing on Instagram every day too so I love taking photos everyday to chronicle the year this way. Took a look at yours and love it so far. Awesome that you got to go to The View 🙂

    • You know, Instagram is a good idea. I never really use it and I should do more. Yeah, the View was pretty cool. I’ve been 2x now. I got in trouble for taking this picture, they didn’t allow phones or video only real cameras (and only point & shoot). I took this with my phone and got a scowl from the security guy. It was worth it. (and I wasn’t the only one).

  2. I think my whole life is a photography project, actually.
I can’t wait to see what you learn/come up with!

  3. I’ve been meaning to do one but I forgot to start it on Jan 1! If I remember it on Feb 1, I might start one… I’m excited for you!

  4. I haven’t delved into photography… oh how I wish I could!!! DO IT!!!! Really- what have you got to lose? A day or two of not doing it? Pff. Who CARES?? Remember.. it’s all in the experience. Embrace whatever days you DO do… that’s what it’s about, isn’t it? 🙂

Oh, how exciting!! I’ve watched several people do Project 365 over the years and it’s so fun to follow along! I’m glad you are jumping in, too!! Good for you! –Lisa

  6. You know what, I could probably be more consistent if I did it with Instagram. It’s not like I don’t take 365 pictures a year…I take more than 365 pics at a single soccer game! Maybe I’ll give it a try that way!

    • That’s a good idea Michelle. I’ve taken a couple with instagram since I started – I actually like seeing the difference in the pictures I take with my camera vs. my phone. Sometimes it’s remarkable.
