about me

IMG_3184 (2)Hi! I’m Stephanie. I’m so glad you found my website and blog – if someone sent you here please give them a big hug from me and thank you for taking the time to check out my page.

First, some stats about me:

Who: Married, mom of three: a 13 year old son and 11 year old twin daughter and son

What: I work part time for a loyalty marketing company, I market them and I create their marketing materials; personally I consider myself an educated amateur photographer, I love to create videos and learn editing programs for both videography and photography; I love to read and I love music

Where: I live in CT about an hour from NYC and 3 hours from Boston

Why: I blog about things I love – my family, sports, photography, food & cocktails, funny stuff and probably more once I get going

Contact me: stephrufa {at} gmail.com

I’m excited to have this opportunity to write about, well, everything. Funny things, gadgets, things I love and “all the stuff going through my head” and sharing it here, with you.

From my favorite cocktails, recipes, music suggestions, photography tips (as I learn them myself, most likely), to book reviews and a journal of my never-ending struggle with being healthier and slimmer, it’s all going to be here. I expect this blog will clear my head for all manner of additional life analysis (which may or may not be a good thing) and provide a respite for many of my friends who have been on the receiving end of any number of “hmmm, I’ve been thinking about this and really need your input” phone calls/discussions.

Much of what I’ll be writing about is what most of us are thinking about, life: the joy and happiness; the friendships & family relationships; the ups and downs; the anxiety and pain of it all. It’s tough to navigate sometimes, and it’s nice to know you aren’t alone and that other people are thinking the same things you are.

I grew up in New York and lived in North Carolina for several years. Twelve years ago my husband and I moved to Connecticut. We stay busy raising our three children and keeping on top of their schedules. We spend a lot of time travelling to and watching their hockey, lacrosse, soccer, football and basketball games. Add in the dance performances and you can see why I have naturally become an eager amateur photographer.

As I’ve learned more about life and myself, I’ve found a creative outlet is necessary for my sanity. As I mentioned, I love taking and editing pictures, but I also like doing a bunch of other things, too. Making jewelry, listening to music (and creating playlists), reading, cooking and making great drinks – these are a few of my favorite things. These activities provide my “unwind, think-it-through, me time.” Well, except for the cocktail making, but then again, sometimes the cocktails are part of it too.

Life is good. And we all need more good. My hope is that you will find some good here and join in the discussions. I hope you laugh and relate and when you leave the page, I hope you feel your time has been well spent.

Thanks for joining me!!
