Until Fall

Well, I’m sure it’s not a permanent farewell, but my favorite link-up is going away for a while, at least until fall.

So through spring and summer I’ll be compiling mix-tapes and taking them to the beach with me in anticipation of Twisted Mix-Tape Tuesday’s return.

Appropriately, the theme this week is missing you, goodbye, see ya later, or however you handle goodbye and want to make a mix-tape about it.

My farewell to Twisted Mix-Tape Tuesday, at least until fall:

One of Us Must Know (Sooner or Later), Bob Dylan

I didn’t mean to hurt you so bad

You shouldn’t take it so personal

I didn’t mean to make you so sad

You just happened to be there, that’s all

###

Sooner or later one of us must know

You’re just doin’ what you’re supposed to do

Don’t feel bad Jen, leaving us all waiting and wanting more Mix-Tape, I understand you’ve got things to do, I understand it takes a crazy amount of time. I hope you understand I don’t have to be happy about it!

Love and Memories, O.A.R. (Live from Madison Square Garden)

Yes, you know you’ve done a good thing when we’re all left with Love and Memories.

So Long, Ingrid Michaelson

Really, the only part of this song that’s appropriate to Mix-Tape is: “So long to you” the rest of the words are kinda crazy.

Missing Pieces, O.A.R.

We will all be missing pieces because our Tuesday link-up is gone (at least until fall.)

San Francisco, Brett Dennen

Go if you want to go

But I won’t follow

Just so you know

Leave if you want to leave

But I won’t be here

When you come home

I’m lying. You know we’ll all be here when you get back.

Bonus Song:

Missing You, John Waite

Of course all I’m saying is I’m going to be missing my Tuesday music fix.

My post today is part of the last Twisted Mix-Tape Tuesday for a while. If you love music, check out the rest of the tributes and farewells by clicking the link below. I tried to make this a little funny, a little goofy, and to make Jen feel a little guilty (not really). If you were saying goodbye to something you enjoy what would your song choice be? I’d love to read about it in the comments below.

Now, I’ll have to make do…until fall.

  1. At least you have something to look forward to in the Fall…well, besides the kids going back to school and apple pie 🙂

  2. I am with Allie, at the very least there is something to look forward to int he fall now, because to be honest I don’t want the spring and summer to go too quickly, but then again this is definitely a fun link up, so hoping you get to link up again sooner rather then later again 🙂

  3. You can bring your mix tapes over to my pool this summer since half the music you post I never heard…it will all be new to me!

  4. I was going to totally tell you that I knew none of these, of course, and that one of mine would be “Missing You.” And then you have it as a bonus! And a version I’ve never heard! Woohoo!
This is it for me and my mom and sister. It came out in June of 1984 and my father passed a few weeks later. So it played all summer.
    And it haunted our brains.
I’m sorry. Is this a downer? To be fair, it’s a downer theme but I absolutely love it. Another for me would be Bonnie Raitt “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

  5. Oh Stephanie! You don’t have to make me feel a little guilty 😉 You guys are ripping my heart out! Just kidding, okay not really LOL. Last night was really hard, the first 5 were so totally unexpected, I had to stop and prepare myself to start again tonight. I guess I didn’t really know how much this meant to you guys. It’s easy to get caught up in the “work” I just didn’t realize. But I feel so awesome and humbled and loved and THANK YOU for telling me how you feel.
Because you can be SURE WE WILL BE BACK! I’m making a doc in our FB group for future topics so start writing them down!

  6. Great selections, especially the O.A.R. stuff!

I just wanted to let you and some of the other regulars know that I’m going to host a hop of my own beginning next week — MusicAtoZ — the details are on my Twisted Mixed Tape entry this week.

Hope to see you around! 🙂

  7. You and I have a love for Waite’s songs. Great mix!
